Many foods marketed as healthy really aren’t so good for you. Here are six that I avoid.

Lots of foods sound like they’re good for us but really aren’t. Here are 6 supposedly healthy foods I avoid.
One: Granola bars. Dont let the word granola fool you. Its not a health food. And that goes double for granola bars. Most have lots of added sugar, little protein or fiber, and a list of unpronounceable ingredients. No thanks.
Two: Multigrain, 7-grain, and 12-grain breads. Whats wrong with lots of grains? Well, they include refined grains, which you don’t want. Look instead for whole grain or whole wheat bread.
Three: Vitamin-enhanced waters. These can contain added sugar or other sweeteners, along with chemicals and extra calories. Even if they’re calorie free, you’re better off with plain water and a vitamin pill. If you want flavor, add fruit slices.
Four: Veggie chips. Sorry, no vegetables here or anything else nutritious. You might as well eat potato chips.
Five: Raisin bran. Bran plus fruit. How can you go wrong with that? With lots of added sugar, that’s how. Opt instead for plain bran cereal and add raisins or other fruit.
Six: Organic cookies and chips. Just because they have an organic label doesn’t make them any healthier. Nor does the higher cost. Pricey junk food, after all, is still junk.
