Ways that getting moving is good for your mental health.
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Regular exercise is good for your mental health.
It can reduce stress and help combat anxiety and depression.
Any activity that gets you moving counts, whether it’s walking, dancing or gardening.
So choose ones you enjoy.
Shoot for a total of 30 minutes on most days.
You can break it into smaller amounts of 10 or 15 minutes.
If possible, team up with a friend or family member.
That can make exercise more enjoyable and keep you motivated.
Don’t use exercise as a substitute for talk therapy or medication.
Before starting, check with your health provider to make sure exercise is safe for you.
