With so many things to keep track of every day, remembering to take your meds can sometimes get lost in the shuffle. Here are some tips to jog your memory.
At the beginning of the week, count out each day’s pills for the rest of the week. Parcel them into separate baggies or use a pill box, which you can get from your health care provider or pharmacy.
This’ll make it easier to keep track of which meds you need to take. It will also give you a good visual reminder if you’ve forgotten a dose.
You might also set your watch alarm or use a kitchen timer to remind you when it’s time to take your meds.
Or leave reminder notes in places you’ll see them, like the bathroom mirror, the fridge, or next to the TV.
Try to take your meds at the same time every day. Pair it with a regular activity like brushing your teeth or eating breakfast – you’re not going to forget those right?
Make sure to get those refills before you run out. Each time you pick up a refill, make a note on your calendar when to order and pick up the next one.
As always, if you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
